Thank you for considering St. Mary Magdalene Catholic School
as your child's school. St. Mary Magdalene offers a quality education in a
Christian setting and welcomes your interests. The curriculum addresses
the needs of the whole child - spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, cultural
and physical.
We are currently enrolling grades PK-3 through 8th grade
for the 2009-2010 School Year. New
families will also be required to participate in an interview with the
principal after all paperwork is complete.
In the event that more students apply for admission than
places are available, a waiting list will be established and students will be
accepted according to their parent's registration in the parish, which is
verified at the Parish Office. Other students will be accepted by the
above priority, the order of their registration and the completeness of their
application.
Registration takes place daily in the school office from
8:00 am - 4:00 pm (the main location is at 530 Ferguson St.). A
registration packet can be mailed to you by contacting the school office at
281-446-8535, you may download one by clicking

Tuition Categories
Because
of an IRS regulation we will no longer be able to offer a Stewardship rate for
our students. The rates starting in
2007-2008 reflect this IRS regulation.
The
US Catholic Conference of Bishops has notified all Dioceses with the following
regulation:
Payments
made to a parish by parents of children enrolled in a catholic school may
qualify as deductible contributions if they are gifts, i.e…, if they
are voluntarily given with no expectation of obtaining commensurate benefits.
Enrollment
in the school must in no manner be contingent on making the payment; the payment
must not be made pursuant to a plan (whether express or implied) to convert
nondeductible tuition into charitable contributions; and the receipt of the
benefit (schooling or reduced tuition payments) must not otherwise be dependent
upon making the payment.
Any
attempt to link school enrollment or tuition reductions/benefits to parish
contribution or level of parish contribution jeopardizes the deductibility of
contributions by parishioners who benefit from such practices.
The Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston has applied this
policy to all schools within our Archdiocese.
We
will have a Catholic and Non-Catholic rate for each grade level. To
qualify for the Catholic rate you must be a member in good standing of any
Catholic Parish on 06/01/2009.
Possible Additional Fees
Additional fees are charged for extracurricular activities and
the Extended Day Program. Extracurricular activities can include but
are not limited to: Cheerleading, Student Council, Choir, Soccer, etc.
Tuition Assistance Program
St. Mary Magdalene Catholic School created
the Tuition Assistance Fund to offer financial assistance to families
experiencing difficulty paying tuition for students in Kindergarten through 5th
grade. To find out more information
