It is with this mission statement that the
Board of Education introduces the values and environment that will set the
standard for our school. To all who enter the doors of St. Mary Magdalene
Catholic School, they will be welcomed into a Christ-like environment, where
excellence and high standards are achieved with discipline and
honor. A safe, inviting, nurturing and loving atmosphere will focus
on the individual with everyone excelling to his or her potential.
Learning is complimented with a creative and enthusiastic spirit
The purpose of the Parish Board of
Education is to assist the Pastor and Principal in
identifying and articulating the education needs and
aspirations of the Christian community; and become the
basis for program objectives and policies for the total
formal educational program of the parish including
schools, catechetical programs and adult education.
The Board of Education is an advisory
body which consults with the Pastor and Principal in
developing policies and addressing the needs in matters of
education for the school. Board members are expected
to acquire a special knowledge, study the necessary facts
and data, consider various points of view, and strive to
reach consensus in shaping the advice to be provided to
the Pastor.
The Board of Education consists of ten
members: one member is selected from the Pastoral Council,
one is selected from the Finance Committee, three are
appointed by the Pastor, and the remaining five are
selected by the Parish through a discernment process.
